sniper plt
Hey
Brian, thanks for the package. I distributed it to
the plt. They all said to say thanks. I do have an
item we're having a hard time getting. We're trying
to get military issue xxxxin LG and
XLG. For some reason we can't get them through our
supply system here. ......... They work really well in the sand
and in urban conditions. I've already emailed a couple
of guys about them, but this is an item we can use
a lot of.
Again thanks for the support. Its making a difference.
Stay safe.

Mr.
Sain,
Thank you for thinking of us. My guys can use what
ever you send. We just came back off a OP and had
some good missions. All of them are sniper overwatch,
but we had two that was just us. We are the first
ones in the 25th to use the Aeriel Sniper Platform.
Shooting from a UH-60 isn't so hard, as long as your
using something with less power, scope wise that is.
As the SEO for my BDE, I am in charge of all the training
that goes on here. Even though I have some of my snipers
in other areas of The Stan, I keep in touch with them.
They are all doing good. My team has been doing some
pretty good stuff, finding caches, and squeezing triggers.
The dust is a killer here though. But hey, I won't
bore you for now. We just got back and I need some
sleep to collect my thoughts. Thanks again and if
you need anything from us just let me know.

Hello, from Africa!
First
I would like to personally tell you thank you for
everything you and your orgaization is doing. It is
true, that most of the USMC S/S teams are continually
purchasing thier own equipment that doesnt exist in
the military supply systems, and any help thats available
is greatly appreciated. We have all of the basics
currently, but a few items could definitly help us
take it to the next level. We currently need a Kestrel
weather meter that reads windspeed, temperature, and
humidity. Most of us have pocket sized thermometers,
but not something that gives us constant humidity
data. Also we need 4 blackhawk 3 day assault packs
(tan). The current assault sized pack we have does
not provide enough space in order to fit all of our
individual operational equipment, so we've got things
strapped to the outside like a bunch of gypsies. We
could use a suppressor too, for the xxxx. Im sure thats pushing it a bit
far though! Ha!
Again,
my team and I appreciate everything your doing.

Hello
Adopt a Sniper!!!
I’m
currently deployed in Iraq with xxxxxx, a National
Guard unit attached to xxxx. I was a sniper for xxxx from xxxxthrough xxxx. I graduated from the US Army
Sniper School in xxxx. My partner
served with xxxx, and was a sniper for a year on
the Korean DMZ in the xxxxx. He is also currently
a full time sniper for the xxxx Police Department.
I
have to say we didn’t expect to read about anything
like what you’ve done for us snipers. Until
now it seems we were misunderstood and under utilized.
Now we are in demand and are working hard to do our
jobs with half the gear. My partner and I have shelled
out thousands on gear and we are still in need. We
are part of a section that they have created for the
line companies to use during operations instead of
having to use Battalions scout snipers for every company
Op. They added one additional team made up of competent
soldiers we hand picked and trained ourselves right
before deploying overseas. We are a hard working section
and we’ve had to pretty much fund ourselves
as far as gear. Our biggest problem is always commo
between team 1 and 2! And there have been plenty of
times when we’ve had to resort to 100 feet of
550 cord to signal one another from our prospective
hides. There have been times when we’ve had
to basically play telephone to get in contact with
one another. The xxxx radios we have are in short supply
and we end up with one xxxx or a xxxx that usually
malfunctions.
I'm sure you understand how this can
be a huge problem, not being able to communicate.
If you could spare us some radios that will add a
little reliability to our operations it would be greatly
appreciated. We also have a pretty solid xxxx with
us, but the optics they issued to us along with the
rifle is a joke. The rings they gave us wouldn’t
hold a zero on a xxxx. It was an obvious rush
job to field some xxxxx look-alikes. The scopes were
given to the engineers to help them spot IEDs, and
we were left with a spotter weapon with no optic.
I had a xxxx sent to us from home but was damaged
along with the rings. If it would be possible to send
us a xxxx xxxx with xxxx for our xxxxx it will give us the capability of tandem
and quick follow on shots, and the variable magnification
will help greatly with field of view in urban environments,
which could have come in handy a few times already.
If
you aren’t able to get us this specific gear,
any help of any kind will be greatly appreciated.
I know these things are expensive because we’ve
spent a bank already. Thank you so much for even offering
this kind of help to the sniper community, especially
the ones seeing combat overseas!! It made me feel
good just reading the article in the paper. In addition,
knowing someone hasn’t forgotten about us, makes
us do our duty that much better.
Thanks
again
